Summer Movie Preview

May Day! May Day! May Day! Yeah, it’s already May and you know what? Summer movie season is officially started. So excited about this summer, you know why? We, Indonesian missed summer season kick-off last year. Now I wanna give you a preview, especially my personal taste for this season.

The Avengers

WooHoo, The Avengers open this summer. Joss Whedon directed it and featuring all-star studded cast. What’s make this movie more exciting? IMAX first showing.

Take a look John Madden’s The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel on this date.

The Dictator

Forget Burton and Depp, Dark Shadows makes me exciting but The Dictator looks funnier. Not fans of Cohen, Borat or whatever but it looks pretty intriguing.

Don’t forget to take a look at this week, Battleship. Not really bad movie, seriously, you should check my review. Oh I almost forget mention Hysteria, look pretty funny?

Well let’s jump to the future, I don’t have any desire to these movies but I will watch it anyway. Men In Black 3 and Moonrise Kingdom will finish the first month of summer.

Snow White and The Huntsman

Uh-oh skeptical, Snow White potrayed by Twi-fuckin-light Bella? Hey wait! Charlize Theron, Thor, a very dazzling trailers and song by Florence and The Machine. Enough said. Kristen Stewart looks not so fucked up here.

Wait what? Piranha is coming to town. Yeah, it’s 3DD!

Soegija

Well, Soegija is not Hollywood blockbuster. What’s make it special? The Tree of Life of the year. Garin Nugroho’s movie offers a lot of poetic and beautiful songs feature on trailer. This is a movie about first Indonesian bishop, it’s not about religion but it’s about nation and diversity. Click image to see the amazing 6-minutes trailer.

Prometheus

Are you seeing this? I’m sorry, are you seeing this very-fucking-amazing trailer weeks by weeks? Charlize Theron, Ridley Scott, Alien prequel (?), Dragon Tattoo, and expedition to some random planet out there filled with aliens. Who’s not excited? IMAX, we’re talking about.

Forget either Bel Ami or Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted, Peace, Love and Misunderstanding is simply intriguing.

To Rome With Love

Woody Allen’s another movie? Tired? Maybe but despite mix reviews from early screening on Rome and dodgy title. The trailer is the most intriguing Allen’s movie I’ve ever seen, by the way I like Midnight in Paris.

Forget shirtless Cruise on musical, Pixar comeback from failure last year and The 16th President of United States hunting vampires is the reason to stay on cineplex seat rather to beach.

Magic Mike

Really? It’s Soderbergh’s movie? About Stripper and what… really? Oh guys, maybe it looks gay, but the cheesy trailer with Rihanna’s song is simply intriguing. Yeah I hate from the start, but it’s Soderbergh, maybe he’ll surprise anyway. Remember Haywire on January?

It’s another Tatum, well looks no Tatum on trailer. G.I. Joe: Retaliation is a must watch for ending June, I really like stupid and cartoonish Rise of Cobra directed by Sommers. But Retaliation looks epic than the first movie, Jon Chu version will be different. Don’t forget Bruce Willis.

The Amazing Spider-Man

It’s a bird? a plane? Superman? No it’s Spider-Man hanging on New York, now he’s amazing and bleak. Directed by 500 Days of Summer helmer and Andrew Garfield potray as young Parker (Can you imagine that? Even David Fincher can’t) and  Emma Stone as Parker’s love interest. Who’s playing Spidey? He’s The Social Network star, case closed.

Savages

Something wrong with your love story these day? You must look Blake Lively, date two hot guys and they running dirty bussiness. End up being kidnapped and boom, summer movie happen. Look the trailer, fucking dazzling.

Ice Age: Continental Drift 3D

Foget about Ted anyway. I don’t know to describe it, each character on Ice Age are unique. Squirrel is the most fun character. Ice Age is my first 3D experience, and well I say I’m in love with the wonderful 3D.

The Dark Knight Rises

Drop everything! Told The Playlist to us, giving latest amazing trailer later this morning. Wake from his hiatus, Nolan is prepare to amaze us again with this epic conclusion (the trailer told us) of Batman trilogy. Well, internet! Not just Prometheus which has a very good trailer, right?

And Little Miss Sunshine director is back, so Step Up franchise is back. July ends.

The Bourne Legacy

What’s intriguing? I don’t even know the trilogy before. And set with a new Bourne, Renner. Well the trailer looks good, I love to see it because it’s modern Bond influence.

Ah shit! Paul Verhoeven’s movie remake, Bruce Willis back to action pack 80’s movie, Joseph Gordon Levitt ride a bike and a movie which has a title like Terrence Malick’s ongoing project. Well, summer season ends.

Favorite Films of 2011

1. The Tree of Life

2. The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo

3. Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy

4. The Artist

5. Super 8

I feel like men are more romantic than women. When we get married we marry, like, one girl, ‘cause we’re resistant the whole way until we meet one girl and we think I’d be an idiot if I didn’t marry this girl she’s so great. But it seems like girls get to a place where they just kinda pick the best option… ‘Oh he’s got a good job.’ I mean they spend their whole life looking for Prince Charming and then they marry the guy who’s got a good job and is gonna stick around.

Dean (Blue Valentine)

All men fear death. It’s a natural fear that consumes us all. We fear death because we feel that we haven’t loved well enough or loved at all, which ultimately are one and the same. However, when you make love with a truly great woman, one that deserves the utmost respect in this world and one that makes you feel truly powerful, that fear of death completely disappears. Because when you are sharing your body and heart with a great woman the world fades away. You two are the only ones in the entire universe. You conquer what most lesser men have never conquered before, you have conquered a great woman’s heart, the most vulnerable thing she can offer to another. Death no longer lingers in the mind. Fear no longer clouds your heart. Only passion for living, and for loving, become your sole reality. This is no easy task for it takes insurmountable courage. But remember this, for that moment when you are making love with a woman of true greatness you will feel immortal.

Ernest Hemingway (Midnight in Paris)

First look at Nicholas Hoult in Warm Bodies
The first official image has been released for teen zombie romance Warm Bodies, and it gives us some idea of what to expect from Nicholas Hoult’s brain-munching protagonist “R”.

Now, on first impressions, we’d say that Hoult’s undead teen looks a touch like one of the Twilight vamps, what with the razor-sharp cheekbones, pallid complexion and jeans-and-hoody ensemble…

New Twilight is coming. Now it’s time for Zombie and Nicholas Hoult.
